Once again the ****tiest blog on the internet back again. To make it short: 9 Time, 9 Time, 9 Time LEAGUE CHAMPION!!! We finished the Saturday league (Tropical Bowling League 2008) as the top seed for the step-ladder finals and only had to play one game...and we won. This is my ninth league championship...eventhough I have sh**ty revs I have had the luck to win leagues. That's cool. I included some photos of the award ceremonies in this site; but on the other site I included all the photos and winners which is at dxbowlingpr.bowlspace.com.

My team dominated the league charts this year with a Team Award Scratch Series of 2130. That total is based on 3 bowlers playing 3 games (236 avg.) which is 330 pins above par which is 1800 (200 avg.). We also had the Team Award Scratch Game of 756.

Individually my partners got awards too. Luis got the Youth Individual High Scratch Series Award with a 742 Series and Youth High Handicap Game Award with a 268.

MIKA got his award for Youth Most Improved for the 2nd time in a row in this league.

I also got my individual awards for Men Individual High Scratch Game (268), High Scratch Series (738) and High Average (200.7).

We'll see what happens next season which starts in August.

FUBU "The ***** Bowler"

After a horrific Friday of extra dry lanes and a series of 705 in 4 games....today things just turned around big time. In the Saturday league (which is a trios league), not only I bowled real good, but my teammates bowled extra good as well.

I bowled 738 in 3 games; 268, 258 & 212. My partner Luis (Luis Mi) Hurtado bowled 742 in 3 games; 268, 237 & 237. My other teammate Michael (Mika) Hurtado bowled 650 in 3 games; 220, 219 & 211.

We managed to break the league records today. We have now the high team scratch game with a 756 (268, 268 & 220) & high team scratch series with 2130 (738, 742 & 650). Luis Mi now with the YABA individual high scratch series of 742 & me the individual adult men high scratch series of 738. Combined we averaged 236, which is huge in this league and more when there is only one week left in the league. I'm sorry for our opponents today (we beat them by more than 400 pins total pin), but it was our day and when you've got a roll going one must take advantage of the opportunity. More when you're going aganst the top team of the league and now for the 1st time of the season we got to 1st place, but it's not over yet since there is still one last week to go and with only a 1-1/2 point lead....anything can happen...but we will try our best.

FUBU "The Sh**ty Bowler"

Well, here it goes again. Saturday league is close to an end. My team is now 2nd and this Saturday we go against the top team and if we win, the last week is position round and would be facing the same team again. My average increased to 197, up to now it is 1st in the league but with only a 0.5 lead, it could change.

This past Saturday there was a multi-sport tournament that included bowling. It included basketball, softball, billiards, dominoes, and of course bowling. I was invited to play the bowling part with Joe Jr. & Mel. Short, due to it being 2 games only but was fun. We won the bowling partso even better. The sad part was that originally it was supposed to be doubles but due to the bowling center being mega full that day, available lanes for tournament use was reduced, so they converted it to trios. What made it sad was, since it was originally a doubles tournament, they only had 2 medals so I had nothing to show for the win. Too bad.

I have been writing about close calls with a 300 game for the past few weeks. This time I went to practice at Ponce with a few friends. 1st game 193, I missed 2 ten pins. In the 2nd game I did better and had a clean game, 219. I finished this game with a strike. As I ended the 2nd game, I started the 3rd game striking all the way to the 2nd fill ball in the tenth frame. This was the second time I had 12 in a row between 2 games. Now unfortunately, my last shot was pulled and only got an 8 count for a 298. The series total was 710. So close but yet so far. It seems I am getting closer and closer to that elusive 300 game.

Yes...a 300 game!!! Oh, not quite again...this time 10 strikes in a row from the 3rd frame to the 10th frame in one game and then 2 more strikes starting the next game for 12 in a row but divided in 2 games. BOOOO...SAD!!! But still it was a thrill. Last night, even though I came in with work trouble in my brain, I managed to throw a 702 series (for my 9th 700 series) with games of 211, 278 & 213.
